1. Service Agreement
By leaving your device with IT TECH ("we", "us", "our") for repair or service, you ("the customer") agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms govern all repair services, product sales, and interactions with IT TECH, located at 19 Pearse Street, Ballina, Co. Mayo, Ireland.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
2. Repair Liability Disclaimer
While we take every precaution when handling your device, IT TECH shall not be held liable for:
- Loss of data during the repair process. Please back up your device before bringing it in.
- Additional damage discovered during the repair process that was not visible at the time of assessment
- Damage caused by software issues, manufacturer defects, or components that fail during the repair
- Cosmetic damage (scratches, marks) that was pre-existing at the time of drop-off
- Devices that cannot be repaired due to the extent of damage
We will always inform the customer of any complications or additional findings before proceeding with repair.
3. Pre-existing Damage
IT TECH is not responsible for any pre-existing damage to your device that was present before it was brought in for repair. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Internal damage not visible during initial assessment
- Water damage indicators already triggered
- Bent or warped frames or chassis
- Damaged or corroded components unrelated to the repair requested
- Software issues or corrupted operating systems
A thorough assessment will be carried out on drop-off. Any pre-existing issues identified will be documented and discussed with the customer prior to commencing work.
4. Customer Data Responsibility
It is the sole responsibility of the customer to back up all data on their device before submitting it for repair. IT TECH will not be held liable for any data loss, including but not limited to contacts, photos, videos, messages, applications, or files.
Our technicians may need to power on your device during the repair process. We will not access, copy, modify, or share any personal data stored on your device. All customer data is treated with strict confidentiality in line with GDPR requirements.
If a repair requires a factory reset, we will notify the customer in advance and obtain consent.
5. Warranty
IT TECH offers a limited warranty on repairs and parts, subject to the following conditions:
- All repairs carry a 90-day warranty on parts and labour
- The warranty covers faults related directly to the repair carried out
- The warranty does not cover physical damage, water damage, or damage caused by misuse after repair
- Warranty claims must be made in person at our store with proof of purchase/repair receipt
Our warranty does not affect your statutory rights under Irish consumer law.
6. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon collection of the repaired device or purchase of a product. We accept cash and card payments. Please note:
- A repair quote will be provided to the customer before work begins. Work will only commence upon customer approval of the quote.
- If additional parts or work are required beyond the original quote, the customer will be informed and approval obtained before proceeding.
- No Fix, No Fee: If we are unable to complete a repair, no charge will be made for labour. Parts costs may apply if parts were ordered at the customer's request.
- We are not responsible for devices that are left with us for more than 30 days.
- Refunds are subject to our standard returns policy and Irish consumer protection law.
7. Uncollected Devices
Devices left with IT TECH must be collected within 30 days of notification that the repair is complete or that the device cannot be repaired. After this period:
- IT TECH reserves the right to charge a storage fee
- Devices not collected after 90 days may be disposed of or recycled to cover outstanding costs
- IT TECH will make reasonable attempts to contact the customer prior to any disposal
8. Products & Sales
All products sold by IT TECH are subject to Irish consumer law. Pre-owned devices are sold as tested and graded. Returns on pre-owned products may be accepted at our discretion within 7 days of purchase, provided the device is returned in the same condition.
We reserve the right to refuse a return or exchange if the device has been damaged, tampered with, or shows signs of misuse after purchase.
